Visiting the Great Ocean Road and all it has to offer is an experience that will leave you wanting to see more. With each visit I have explored both the familiar and the not so familiar locations and each time I have visited this coast I have been at the mercy of mother natures unpredictable weather. Getting the right conditions for beautiful and dramatic photography will require many visits before being rewarded with lighting suitable for capturing that great photo. With so many photographs being taken of the Twelve Apostles, Gibson Steps, Loch Ard Gorge and the many vantage points along this coast it is the weather and the light that allows for a differentiation in the end photo. Coming away with a unique perspective combined with great light is a quest most photographers hope for when visiting popular destinations. A recent trip along the Great Ocean Road in pursuit of a unique perspective is what I was wanting to come away with and this didn't require too much effort at all. Although the location wasn't difficult to reach the hazard of being so close to the edge was a little frightening. The weather was perfect and very calm which helped with being so close to the face of the cliff, had the wind been blowing I possibly would not have ventured to this location. It was just spectacular being so close to the Arch which incidently collapsed in 1990. This image captured below was only possible due to the collapse of one of the arches which now only has one remaining.
