We all have embraced digital capture, the instant gratification of a photograph viewed on a screen is now the norm. No more waiting for the results to return from the lab, no more trial and errors as the fix for that can be corrected on the spot. If it doesn't look right just take it again…………..simple. Everyone who owns a device of some sort is a photographer and cameras are fitted on just about everything that is digital.
With digital sensors being so advanced the capabilities are enormous and so to is the quality. I personally use Nikons and if I didn't use a Nikon it would either be a Canon or a Pentax or a Sony or whatever else I fancied as I am not all about the brand.
But what most digital SLR's do share is the similarities in which they capture the image and process the result. It's at this point where film and digital go there own separate ways. A digital print and a traditional photograph just don't look quite the same.
There is something about a traditional photograph that appeals to me, it hasn't always appealed but as time goes by and with so many digital images all over the internet I am beginning to feel the need to turn the clock back just a little and from time to time. I'm not talking about taking out my old and trustworthy Nikon F5 and start shooting in film again. I'm taking about combining the look of film on a digital captured image. I processed this image below using Lightroom and I really like the end result.
